Green B.E.A.N. Delivery

I recently had the opportunity to partner with the awesome grocery delivery company Green B.E.A.N. for a trial delivery and customer review.  When this opportunity came around I was beyond excited for many reasons:
1. The CONVENIENCE of it being delivered! I HATE grocery shopping.  It is just not my thing- I dread it every week.  I end up with the same groceries because I never know where anything is located.  I normally have Emersyn with me so I am not looking to be in that grocery store for long periods of time.
2. FRESH produce!  Sometimes the produce at local grocery stores can look less than appealing.  I love having fresh, organic fruits and veggies on hand.  It makes eating healthy so much easier.
3.  This makes it EASY to try new things.  I am more likely to check off a new food to try on a checklist than to pick one up at the store.  I never know how to select a good mango or kiwi, so I always stick to my normal apples and strawberries.
With these reasons in mind, I couldn't wait to check out what Green B.E.A.N. had to offer.  Upon exploring their website, I was pleasantly surprised to see they not only had lots of ordering options but the process was so easy!

Before I go into what I ordered exactly, let's learn more about Green B.E.A.N...
Green B.E.A.N. is a dynamic food company that takes a multifaceted approach to building local food systems. B.E.A.N. is an acronym that represents our core initiatives; Biodynamic, Education, Agriculture, and Nutrition. There goal is to make healthy and sustainably grown local food affordable, accessible, and convenient to the Midwest communities.

If you visit their website at www.greenbeandelivery.com you will be able to see all their pricing, food selection, and delivery options!  After looking at there different options (which include small, medium, and large produce bins, fruit only bins, or produce and grocery bins) I decided to go with the small produce bin.  This bin allowed me to select from their list of fruits and vegetables and was a perfect amount for my small family of 3.

Once I selected my bin and what I wanted inside of it, I decided on a delivery start week.  Then, one week later I came home from work and there on my front porch was a green bin full of fresh fruits and veggies.  I was so happy to have all of this yummy goodness ready to wash and eat, and I NEVER had to make a trip to the store!  THANK YOU GREEN BEAN!!

So in my bin I selected and received:
kiwi
lemons
pears
spinach
mint
mangos
carrots
avocados
tomatoes
cucumbers
cilantro

Oh my, it all looked so incredibly fresh and delicious.  I immediately popped Emersyn in her high chair for a taste testing session.  She loved the mango, kiwi, and avocado but was not loving the tomatoes- haha, like mother like daughter!

We have been enjoying fresh salads (with spinach, tomatoes, carrots, cilantro), spinach/egg omelets, avocado on our turkey burgers, mint in our tea, snacks of yogurt with mango and kiwi.  I can honestly say it has been a HEALTHY week of eating in our home thanks to Grean B.E.A.N.!  As we use the produce from this bin, I now have the option to have a bin delivered every week or every other week, and each week I can change what I want delivered in my bin- how awesome!
I think for my next bin, I am going to find a great NEW, healthy recipe and put all the ingredients I will need into the bin to be delivered.

Do you love having healthy food options on hand for meals and snacks?  Do you dread the grocery store like me?  Do you often times get overwhelmed trying to find things at the store?  If you answered YES to any of these, Green BEAN might just be your answer!
Here is your chance to try Green BEAN services with a $15 discount off your first order!!  When you visit there website at www.greenbeandelivery.com and create your order just enter the promo code 15JLMml and receive $15 off your order!

Our Easter Joy

We really had such a blessed Easter weekend with friends and family.  We spent Saturday back home in the country.  It was the perfect day to be outside for a little egg hunt, real bunnies, a lovely lunch, and  tons of fun!
They had a box of REAL bunnies- so of course I had to give Emersyn an up close look.
She was fine with the bunnies in the box but didn't love when they were out an near her!  She is not exactly an animal girl.
She was way more interested in the pretty pin wheels stuck throughout the yard.
Taking a stroll with grandma- well she REALLY wants to be able to stroll:)
She decided cruising around was good enough!

She was so sweet sitting with Daddy- opening each egg.  Wondering why they were empty:)

Do you notice all these adults wondering through the woods... well let me tell you, they are not wondering.  They are on a serious adult Easter "Egg" Hunt for miniature liquor bottles.  I mean I really love my family- we are fun!!

Ian found 5 little bottles! SCORE- we will be packing those away for our upcoming trip!
I have to include this picture of my grandma and grandpa because on this Easter they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary!! May we all be so lucky to have such love in our lives!!

Easter Sunday we went to a lovely service with my sister and brother in law.  Emersyn did so well in church.  She was smiling and making friends.  The lady behind me leaned forward and asked me if she was always this happy.  Gosh that made me smile- because- YES, she is such a happy little girl!  Then we enjoyed a wonderful brunch!

After brunch I sat out Emersyn's Easter basket for her to explore.  She was very careful while searching through it with such a curious face.

We then spent the rest of the day playing outside!  It really was a perfect weekend!  Only makes me that much more ready for SUMMER!!!!  Hope you each had a wonderful Easter with friends and family as well!

Easter Decor, Fashion, and More

I am happy to have a year when Easter falls a little later on the calendar.  Last year it was so early being at the end of March- Emersyn was only about two weeks old so we didn't really get to do much.  So this year I was extra excited to decorate the house with some fun Easter decor and create a little basket for Emersyn.
I like to keep my Easter/Spring decor simple and fresh feeling with bright colors and fresh flowers.  I only select a few key areas in the main room of our home to add small touches of decor.
This cute stitched banner is from Target and fits perfectly across the sofa table.
Having fresh flowers when decorating for spring is really a MUST!  This simple, single stem of hydrangea is perfect.  This driftwood bunny is new from Home Goods.  I love that it looks like this from both sides so I can place it on the sofa table and it looks nice from all angles.

Forsythia is another flower that I think is best for spring decor.  I love the pop of color these simple fake stems bring to the main living area.

Adding bright, spring pillows is such an easy way to lighten and brighten a room.

After putting a few spring touches around the house, I started to put together Emersyn's Easter basket.  She is still too little to really care much about a basket, so I kept it pretty simple with a new Easter flip up book, just a few eggs that I will fill with Cheerios or Puffs, and a fun little 'first crayon' activity book.

Finally, I picked out the two outfits Emersyn will be wearing for our Easter festivities.  Saturday we are having our large family gathering with lunch and egg hunts.  I wanted her to be in something a bit more casual and warm since we will be outside most of the day.  On Sunday, we will be going to church with family so she can get a bit more dressed up for that.
Saturday's Outfit- top and pants from Baby Gap, shoes from Old Navy and headband from Etsy.
Cardigan from Gap, dress from Oshkosh, headband from Etsy, shoes from Old Navy

Emersyn was crawling around the hall way when I took these pictures.  She crawled over and grabbed the cardigan and REALLY wanted to put it on- RIGHT AWAY!  She tried hard at it too!!!
"Ohh- I love this cardigan mom! I better try it on!"
"I know it goes up here somehow..."
"Yes... I remember through the arms..."
"So I put my arms out and then what?..."
"Geesh Mom... this is trickier than I thought!"
Love that little lady and the daily smiles she brings to my face!!!  Excited to share all of our Easter fun with you next week.  Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!
